We are planning a church drive/hike to Modjeska Peak on Wednesday, March 31. We will rendezvous at Maple Springs Visitor Center at the end of Silverado Canyon Road at 8 in the morning. From there, we will car pool/caravan up about 4 ½ miles to the “saddle”, also known as “4 Corners”. From there, we will hike up to Modjeska Peak, a hike of about 3 ½ to 4 miles round-trip.

This hike is on uneven ground with

many small rocks in places so be sure to wear suitable shoes. Also, be sure to bring water and maybes some snacks. From the Maple Springs Visitor Center to the “saddle” by vehicle takes about 45 minutes. Depending on how fast we walk and how long we spend at the peak the hike can take as little as 2 hours but will probably take a longer than that to allow for rest stops along the way. Cell phone reception is spotty while on the mountain. I will bring along my Garmin Inreach that can send and receive text messages and emails via satellite that we can use in the case
